Hey, so maybe I haven't uploaded a comic in over a month. Yup. Well in the meantime I've been doing a lot of stuff like this: a series of character portraits inspired by the Dungeons and Dragons campaign I've been playing off and on since late summer. Looks like it's going to be put on hold for a while, so I thought I'd post these here. It was a really great campaign setting, based pretty closely on the North American continent circa 1700, except with more Dogmatic High Elves, Iberian Conquista-Dwarves and Kaizard lizard-people. Also piracy in the Caribbean was represented by sporadic raiding parties of anthropomorphic crustaceans. Fucking RADICAL. Anyway, our party was awesome, so I drew (most of) them. From left to right, the characters are: 1. Jennah, the hammer-toting human from Godsvinland, a small muddy island that was being slowly worn away by the sea. Her brother had been murdered by Dwarven privateers in the passage to the New World, and she was seeking vengeance wherever she could find it. 2. Tanamil, a taciturn Kaizard Seeker who was exiled from his tribe for offering aid and supplies to human settlers. He wasn't a lizard-man of many words, but he kicked ass in ranged fights. Played by 3. Corliss, a swashbuckling rogue and a dead-eye shot with shuriken (for some reason). Played the quick-witted thief to a T. Played by 4. My character, Isaac, an erudite Elf from a powerful aristocratic family. As the younger of two sons, he spent his youth in a monastery, and he was sent to the New World by a bitter superior. Good with history and linguistics, not so great in combat. Oh, and I should mention, our DM was/is . He kicks all the ass, all the time.
